What are you supposed to wear while you're watching your drinks, asking interesting questions, staying professional with your boss and not hitting on your secret love interest?

The first step to style success is to do a little research. Your office party will have a dress code (casual, semi-formal, formal, black tie, and so on) so make sure you've got that down pat. Also, snoop around: find out what your colleagues are wearing so you know you'll fit in.

Even though your holiday party may be nowhere near the office, you are still with the office. Your goal is to look savvy, sophisticated and fashionably festive, but that can't involve something you wouldn't want your boss to see you in - because she will. Dress conservatively, but add a lot of flare.
The safest bet for scoring the perfect outfit is working with what you're used to. This means sampling from your work wardrobe and mixing it up. Take your classic tailored pant suit and swap the blouse for a silk camisole, or give your blazer a rest and snatch up a fitted bolero or luxurious wrap.
